The Cisadane River

>> Dec 18, 2013

The Cisadane River -which is next to Ciliwung River that I mentioned last week- has a 1,367 km2 catchment area.  The river with a length of 80 km is one of the main rivers within both the West Java Province and Banten Province -flows through the cities of Bogor (my city) and Tangerang. The source located in the Salak-Pangrango Mountains (located in Kabupaten Bogor, south of Kabupaten Tangerang) and discharges its waters in the Java Sea.

The Cisadane River fulfills all present water needs for industry, irrigation and filtered water in the area. On the other hand, the rising level of contamination caused by industrial and domestic activities, including illegal waste water discharges, makes the water more and more costly and difficult to treat (source:
tkcmindonesia.com). It’s obvious that my developing country still face big difficulties in handling water treatment system. I dream to have clean and clear rivers here!

Water is a big problem globally. Awareness is a big key.

I love the angle you got on the river. You must have been really high.

Sadly, the case of the polluted river is the feature many city areas. Often we realise that some plan is needed after a catastrophe. This river looks as if it passes close many homes. Interesting photos - especially the one taken from the mall.
