>> Feb 25, 2015

The Ciliwung River flows across my city Bogor and I have captured the river from different spots. But when talking about the Ciliwung River that runs inside Bogor Botanical Gardens, it turns out that there are some scary facts happened there.

The hanging bridge above the Ciliwung River that passes through the Botanical Gardens

The latest incident happened a few days ago. Last Sunday (Feb 22nd 2015), an unidentified female corpse was found floating in the Ciliwung River inside the Bogor Botanical Gardens, the discovery location was near the hanging bridge. Since it occurred at the weekend, this event shocked many visitors. The poor dead woman expected a homeless because her clothes condition were very shabby and unusual (in three layers). Once evacuated and performed outer post-mortem examination at the hospital, the body buried by the Social Welfare Department.

The Ciliwung River spot that located near the hanging bridge.
According to the Security Platoon Commander of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, it wasn’t  the first time, since 2004 there has been a record of six times invention. The bodies were found at some points in the Ciliwung River in the Bogor Botanical Gardens area.

It’s allegedly due lots of infrastructure around the garden and the narrow river rocks that made the bodies float or stuck in the area. The certain thing is that the bodies didn’t fall in the Botanical Gardens, but mostly drifted from the upper region and stuck in the garden area which has lots of infrastructure. The death toll has never come from visitors. So, don’t let this fact makes you afraid to visit our city's beautiful garden!
