A Silver Reunion

>> Sep 28, 2015

The 27th college year –my grade- Silver Reunion of of Bogor Agricultural University that held last Saturday at the Bogor Botanical Gardens made my weekend enjoyable and impressive, though I experienced a loss later that afternoon.

It was a big event of the whole faculties that attended by more or less 500 people. I didn’t recognize many of them anymore, hahahaha, so  I preferred to gather with familiar faces –friends of the same study program class.

The event was started early in the morning.  Fortunately, our home is nearby Bogor Botanical Gardens, it only takes five minutes to reach the place.  Five minutes to 6 am I was at the field to make a registration and get my goodie bag.  I like the t-shirt; cool color and design :)

Opened by the vice of Bogor city mayor who also an alumni, the reunion started with a morning walk together following the path from Bogor Botanical Gardens-front campus- Bogor underpass-and back to Bogor Botanical Gardens again.  Lots of fun games were held to make stronger the bond between graduates again.

It’s a pity I can’t share various pics here since I lost my pocket camera that afternoon.  I was sure that I kept the camera inside my right pocket. I wasn't aware when and where it fell -it made me hard to trace it.  Oh well, it was my unlucky day but the whole day still nice to memorize.

70th Independence Day

>> Aug 17, 2015

Every 17th August Indonesian people celebrate the Independence Day; today is the 70th ! Since a week ago, people start hoisting flags on their homes along with red-and-white decoration that can be seen throughout the city.

Indonesia is the place where I was born. The national spirit always runs in my blood. Indonesia is a wonderful country that should be proud of. Although there are still many complicated problems that seems blocking the way to prosperity and glory; we must keep struggling and moving forward.

Strong
We fought hard
we fought long
now you'll hear our freedom song
we're not bragging
we're not mean
sorry to say
its our time to gleam
freedom we wanted
freedom we got
everyones hardships will not soon be forgot
we help you
you help us
time has made us all strong
with a light heart and happy soul
when its needed
will tear thee apart

The day usually filled with ceremonies, festives and celebrations. Many communities and neighborhoods held fun activities and contests. Among many fun contests, panjat pinang is a very attractive to see game. Several men try to climb oily poles, to reach attached prizes above.

Of course I love my country. Wish for the continuous freedom and peace as well as better prosperity for the whole residents.  Happy Independence Day!

Gone Too Soon

>> Aug 12, 2015

Like a comet
Blazing 'cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon

Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night

Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon

This post is a tribute to a new lovely friend who has passed away this Wednesday afternoon (August 12, 2015).  She died of a brain tumor that had just known. Her fiancé, parents, the whole family, and friends love her so much but God loves her more. That’s why God called her back home earlier.

I already plan to have a video call next month with her but it won’t happen since she left so soon. I believe that God will place her in the most beautiful place called heaven. We will miss her every day. Rest in peace, dear friend.

My First Online Auction Experience

>> Mar 10, 2015

I haven’t yet ever participated in any online auction before, so yesterday was my first time to try eBay, the famous auction site worldwide. At first, I just browsed through the site and saw the features provided. But then, I was interested to place bids at four offered jewelry items.

Here in my country, gemstones are favored by lots of people. It makes the prices of most gemstones are increasing fast and high. I like seeing the beauty of gemstones but unfortunately, I can’t afford to pay the price tags that offered by the gemstone sellers.

green jade pendant
black jade bracelet
It was a blast for me as I won two auctions! I got a green jade pendant ($ 1.34) and a black jade bead bracelet ($ 0.1) at very low prices. My items are on the long way right now to reach my home. I chose free shipping service; they will arrive in two weeks or more. Hope I get the products in safe and sound.

I was outbid at one auction and the fourth auction is still in the process. Hope I can also win it; I love this blue sapphire pendant -looks elegant and gorgeous! The auction for this pendant will end in two days. Wish me luck, guys. Wow, it could be my new addiction :)
