5 Ways to the Perfect Holiday Season

>> Dec 23, 2011

The holiday season is, as they say, “the most wonderful time of the year”, yet for some reason, it usually also turns into one of the most stressful times of the year!

You’ve got gifts to buy, events to organise, family to see…and even though these are all positive things that should be fun and exciting, when they happen all at once, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.

But don’t worry! Here are some steps you can take to have you enjoying the holiday spirit and remembering once again why it is meant to be a magical time of the year.

1. Get Organised Early.
The smartest thing you can do to prepare for the holidays is to get started as early as possible.

Do you ever feel slightly annoyed when you see Christmas decorations up and holiday promotional bags being used sometimes as early as October?

Well, maybe it’s not such a bad thing after all – use it as a sign that you should start thinking about your plans. Decide what you want to achieve and what you’ll need to do, so that you can ensure by the time the holidays come around, you are able to fully relax and appreciate them.

2.
Make a List.

If there’s ever a time to get into the habit of making lists, it’s for Christmas gift shopping. Trying to buy gifts with no real ideas on what to buy or where to look can be a real nightmare by the time December rolls around.

Avoid making the mistake most of us make year after year, and get that list done early!

Once you’ve written it, don’t just forget about it: make sure you start ticking those items off. The earlier you do so, the sooner you’ll feel on top of things and be able to laugh at those who aren’t.

Go get out your large green bags (much easier than carrying a huge number of different shopping bags from various stores), and head out to tackle that list early as you can – you’ll be grateful to avoid the mad frenzy of those last few weeks before Christmas.

3.
Think Back to Previous Years.
What was it that you loved or didn’t enjoy so much about previous holiday seasons? Has there been something you wish you could have spent more time on, or people you didn’t get to see?

Take the time to reflect on previous years and make the necessary changes. Maybe this year you will decide to host a Boxing Day brunch rather than the main event. Perhaps you won’t travel as far so as to limit the amount of time you spend your holidays stuck in the car.

Whatever it is you need to do: do it! It’s always better to learn from your mistakes rather than repeating them.

4.
Get in Touch with Friends and Family.
Find out what everyone’s plans are for the holiday season now so that you can start making arrangements earlier rather than later.

If you have family who you usually miss out on seeing because they go away, or you have friends with hectic work schedules: working out suitable dates far enough in advance will enable you to make the most of your time off.

5.
Make Your Preparations Celebrations.
Why not make the lead up to your holidays just as enjoyable at the holiday period itself? If you can’t figure out a way to fit everything into your brief time off work, then don’t try to.

Make an effort to get together with friends throughout the month of November or early December so you don’t feel too rushed or pressured by the time constraints of the official holiday season. You’ll probably find most people are in a similar frame of mind and will appreciate the chance to get together for a drink or two. You can exchange holiday ideas and provide each other with support.

The holiday season is about enjoying life and relaxing with your friends and family. So long as you don’t let the stress to get to you, you’ll be able to have the perfect holiday season. Good luck – happy holidays!

A Tribute to Mothers

>> Dec 22, 2011

Today is Indonesia mother's day. Here's an attribute to all mothers in Indonesia.

A mother keeps the human race going!

She gives the kid(s) the important training;
She does the baby’s cleaning and nursing;
She tends to children’s bathing and cleaning.

A mother is the crux in kid(s) growing!
And children into adults keep turning;
She does the child’s dressing and nail-paring;
She sings the songs when child goes off sleeping!

A mother keeps the home and does cooking;
About the children all, she keeps thinking;
Most days, she does the chores and dish-washing;
She hardly gets some time for own sleeping!

A mother loves to work and keep slogging!
Sometimes, in vain for help, she keeps begging;
Some modern moms take to even blogging;
A few spend much time at husbands, nagging!

A mother knows the art of good loving!
Some are good in punning, joking, rhyming;
A mother teaches kids at fine writing;
She spends the night in ‘about all’, dreaming!

A mother soul is fixed to kid(s) rearing!
To problems all, she gives a good hearing;
Nothing amiss can escape her seeing;
At times, she gives the kid(s) a good beating!

A mother tells kid(s) to be God-fearing!
Some mothers can be bold and ev’n daring;
Some mothers can’t stay without arguing;
Good mothers believe in giving / sharing!

A mother is a great human being!
When someone leaves, she keeps her hand(s) waving;
For love sometimes, some mothers keep craving;
The world somehow keeps most mothers crying!

Choose the Right Veterinarian for Your Pets

A dog is more than just a companion, in many cases, it is a part of the family. The same is also true for cats or any other type of pet that you may have in the household. They certainly do add a considerable amount of enjoyment to our lives, but you need to keep in mind that they are also looking to us to make sure that their needs are taken care of effectively. So when problems arise, you want to make sure that you are able to call on the professionals that can take care of those problems and get your animal back on their feet again. In the Tri-Valley area, this would require that you have the best vet San Ramon has to offer, or if necessary, hire an Alamo vet in order to have somebody that is close to your home. There may also be times when you need to look beyond the Tri Valley veterinary doctor that you have and get somebody that is part of a larger resource that can take care of more serious problems with your animal.

Although it is not something that many of us would like to think about, there may be times when we need to call on the services of a veterinary hospital for our animals. This can either be part of your veterinary care, or it can be used in emergency situations, such as if the need for surgery arises. Since a veterinary hospital is typically equipped to a larger extent than a veterinarian to take care of these problems, it’s an effective choice that can help to safeguard the health of your dog or cat.

Choosing the Best Personal Trainer for Your Dog

You have a dog at your home? If you do, you’re probably familiar with the benefits of owning an animal and how enjoyable it can be for both you and your family. Unfortunately, many people that own animals are also familiar with how much of a problem that can be when they are not properly trained and fitting into the family as they should. That is why it is very important for you to make sure that you are choosing a dog trainer that is going to be able to assist you in actively training the animal, not only now, but for the long-term. If you live in California, you may be looking for the best dog trainer Piedmont has to offer, or perhaps you are looking for a San Leonardo dog trainer in order to take care of something specific. In either case, you will find that once the training does take place, it is a real joy for everyone that is involved.

Perhaps it is that you are looking for something that is specific as far as your dog trainer is concerned. For example, you may know that there are some dog training Oakland classes that are in your area, but they are not really going to touch on the specific problems that you are having with your animal. It is important to make sure that you’re getting the basic obedience training on a regular basis, but it is also important to make sure that it is addressing the specifics of your animal. Make sure that you choose a trainer that is able to do both effectively.

Using Flowers to Convey Your Message

>> Dec 21, 2011

I think giving pre-wrapped flowers will always be a good traditional way to convey your message to someone. Most people will love to accept a bunch of flowers as it can symbolize love, happiness and other positive feelings.

Don’t ever undervalue the message that can be sent by a beautiful bouquet of scented roses. Try to give flowers to your loved ones or friends on their special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, or work promotions. In addition, a simple flower arrangement can be a nice way to convey your condolence or apology.

Some researches have approved that flowers can moderate people’s mood and lessen stressed feeling. Why don’t you put a vase of fresh colorful orchids on your work table? You’ll feel that they can make your mood better and this positive energy can spread to others!

Have you already planned to give flowers to someone? Nowadays, you can shop flowers in the most comfortable way. If it’s your first experience to buy flowers online, it would be very useful to visit comparison shopping sites such as myshopping.com.au. Things to Consider When Planning Your Retirement to the Sea

>> Dec 20, 2011

If and your partner have been dreaming about your big sea change, then you have probably realised that it's not a decision to take lightly. The end goal is easy to imagine: relaxing and enjoying a beautiful ocean view, feeling the fresh sea air on your skin, and the exhilarating feeling of taking a swim in the crystal clear ocean. It can feel overwhelming trying to imagine how you get to that end goal, but it's important not to get discouraged as having your own piece of paradise is well worth the effort! Here are some tips as to how you can get the ball rolling toward making your big move to the sea.

Have the Experience

You can eliminate a lot of doubt in one fell swoop by simply spending your next vacation in Noosa to get a feel for the community and the lifestyle. Taking a decent amount of time in your future area will give you a taste of what to expect when it comes to your daily activities, your shopping needs and basically how you will be spending your time. Chances are you will truly enjoy this vibrant township but, if you don't, at least now you know to keep looking for where you really want to be. Nothing will make your retirement more stressful than thinking that you are stuck with a wrong decision, so make sure you do your homework ahead of time!

Analyse Your Finances

Having a meeting with your financial planner early on is a great idea. It is important to have a clear idea of how much you can spend on your new home before you even start looking for it. It may be worthwhile to consider buying investment property years before your actual retirement, especially in the Noosa area because it is fast becoming a really popular place to buy real estate. The Sunshine Coast is a well-known tourist destination, so you will have no troubles renting out your home to people looking for luxury Noosa accommodation for their holidays. This will allow you to secure your future home as well as bring in some extra revenue during the lead-up to your retirement.

Talk to Your Kids

If money is an issue, then why not talk to your kids about splitting the cost? This is a great opportunity for them to also have a summer getaway home, plus you will be able to spend more time with your grandchildren! This will give your kids a real leg-up when it comes time for their own retirement as well, and will make a great investment for them in the long run.

Start Downsizing

You may be looking around at all the things that you and your partner have collected throughout the years and think, what are we going to do with all this stuff? Getting ready for a big move is a great opportunity to dig through all those boxes in the basement and get rid of things you really don't need anymore. Consider giving some things away to charity, or even have a yard sale fundraiser for yourself! Later on when it is time to pack up and make the big move, you will be thanking yourself for having taken care of all the clutter ahead of time.

Making your big move to Noosa for retirement doesn't have to be a stressful time of your life. This is the time to be relaxed and happy, so make sure you start planning early and make the most of the best move you will ever make.
