Monday Post

>> Jan 28, 2013

Happy Monday, every one! How’s your weekend? Last Saturday was my birthday. There’s no special celebration; prayers and greetings from my loved ones are more than enough for me.

My brother came Saturday morning for getting a massage treatment again. Glad to know his much better progress, now he’s able to drink with a glass –using his left arm and elbow. It’s something that he couldn’t do two weeks ago.

On Sunday night, we drove my brother to Bogor Train Station (West Java, Indonesia).

My brother and I on a pedestrian street that leads to the train station. My husband took this.

For Blue Monday, I also share a shot that captured at the same place with my last week BM post. In the front of the restaurant (the Shrimp Hut, Cibubur, West Java, Indonesia), there’s a vendor sold hermit crabs for pet –along with its colorful house that made from rubber sheets. My niece, Aflah, asked her mother to buy two hermit crabs and also a house for them. She chose the big one:)

Captured in the front of our home. The dog belongs to a neighbor; the cat is a wild one. Dog was barking at the cat loudly but the cat still sat down calmly.

“Hi, cat, I’m calling you!”

“Not interested. I’m enjoying the sun here”

MyLife.com offers interesting features; one of them is a feature that allows their members knowing if there were other people searching for them. A member will benefit this service only if they are becoming a paid member. Every paid member will be able to discover the specific information regarding those who were looking for them.

If you’ve registered and become a paid member; you’ll get advantage from auto-renewal feature. This feature will renew your MyLife membership systematically; whatever your payment method. In fact, the feature has beneficial purpose for every member to avoid any hassles; but later it leads to a big misunderstanding.

You can join easily and you may simply cancel your paid MyLife subscription –as long as you know what to do. Confusion started when those who wanted to call off their paid membership didn’t know what they ought to do to get their MyLife.com Refund successfully.

Those confused members have wildly guessed that the unsubscribe link at the bottom of received emails from MyLife means a right way to cancel the paid membership and stop the auto-renewal feature. The truth is, this unsubscribe link –as you often see in many email marketing letters- only functions to not subscribe anymore upcoming emails. When they find out that their funds are still drawn to pay the membership fee; they get very upset!

MyLife.com has clearly clarified this misunderstanding and explained the correct way to cancel paid membership. So, if you’re a MyLife member who doesn’t want to continue your premium membership there, take your times first to obtain comprehensive information and apply the right way.  Don’t confuse others with half truths. I think it’s a wise thing to do.

Five Things You Need to Have In Your Home Emergency Medical Kit to Protect Your Family

>> Jan 25, 2013

From personal achievements to preparing for an emergency, preparation and planning is the key to important things in life. Living in a world full of uncertainties, having an emergency medical kit in your home enables you to administer first aid at the right time and makes an emergency situation manageable. Having a well equipped emergency medical kit becomes essential if you have kids and elderly people in your home.

Whether you have a broken toe nail, a headache or an allergic reaction, the items in your emergency medical kit are intended to provide you instant relief. It is of utmost importance to restock and update your emergency medical kit on a regular basis in order to ensure protection and safety of your loved ones.
Following is a list of top five things that you need to have in your first aid kits;
1.      Adhesive Bandages or Band Aids
Band aids are some of the most frequently used items in case of cuts and bruises. These are available in different shapes and sizes. You need to have bigger and small bandages in your emergency medical kit to deal with bigger cuts and small bruises. You can also opt for colourful band aids if you have kids in your home.

2.      Antiseptic Creams and Lotions
Antiseptic creams and ointments such as Neosporin is another must have in your emergency medical kit for treating bruises and cuts. It is advisable to clean a lesion or wound thoroughly with an antiseptic ointment before putting on a band aid. This is done to ensure that all the debris in the wound that could cause infection has been rinsed out thoroughly. Additionally, for treating deep wounds that are prone to pus formation, antiseptic lotions and sprays such as Dettol and Salvon are effective.

3.      Muscle Relaxants (Sprays, Gels and Creams)
Having a backache or muscle sprain is one of the most commonly faced medical conditions especially if you have older people in your family.  Muscle relaxants are available in the form of creams, sprays and gels. To provide instant relief to your aching muscle, the relaxants play a significant role and therefore are a must have in your emergency medical kit.

4.      Pain Killers or Pain Relievers
Whether you are suffering from a tooth ache or a headache, pain killers are important to soothe your pain and provide you instant relief. A wide range of pain killers is available in the market catering to different age groups. Painkillers like Paracetamol and Crocin are an important must have in your emergency medical kit to treat such ailments.

5.      Fever Medications and Thermometers
Any emergency medical kit is incomplete without a thermometer and fever medications. It is recommended to keep digital thermometers in your emergency kit rather than mercury thermometers since they are more convenient and safe. Basic fever medications like Paracetamol or Crocin is also an essential component of your medical kit.

Conclusion
In short, administrating the right medical aid to a person at the right time can make a big difference. Many people underestimate the importance of having an emergency medical kit in their homes and rely more on prescription medicines. However, they should know that an emergency kit does not serve as a replacement to proper medical treatment and in the event when serious medical attention is needed, you should not waste time in visiting a doctor.
