More than a recreational beverage, Purple Drank, which is also commonly called Sizzurp, Texas Tea (an ode to its roots), Purple Jelly or Purple Sprite, Bo, Barre, or just plain Lean, is actually pretty dangerous—especially to your pearly whites.

When the drink first became popular by hip-hop artists like Three 6 Mafia, Eminem, Kanye West, T.I., RickRoss, Ludacris, Fat Joe, Youngbloodz, and Drake, it was relegated to the hip hop music scene, or most particularly the “chopped and screwed” style of hip hop, known for its slow speeds so that user could buzz out, or get high, while doing both.
