Gone Too Soon

>> Aug 12, 2015

Like a comet
Blazing 'cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon

Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night

Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon

This post is a tribute to a new lovely friend who has passed away this Wednesday afternoon (August 12, 2015).  She died of a brain tumor that had just known. Her fiancé, parents, the whole family, and friends love her so much but God loves her more. That’s why God called her back home earlier.

I already plan to have a video call next month with her but it won’t happen since she left so soon. I believe that God will place her in the most beautiful place called heaven. We will miss her every day. Rest in peace, dear friend.

How to Spend More Quality Time With Your Child

>> Aug 11, 2015

It is very important that you always make time for your children, as it is crucial for them in order to grow up properly. Moreover, it will be imperative to show your kids that you really care about them, and that you will always be there for them. It will create a picture of you as a parent who is reliable and trustworthy, which is really important in order to become independent later on. However, sometimes it will be hard to find quality time to spend with children, which is why you must get creative.

Do not say no to silly ideas

When your kid is trying to show you something and play with you, it is a clear sign of craving for attention. And even if they want to show you something, or if they want to take you on a pajama walk, you should try to say yes to it. After all, you need to nourish their kid side, and having fun during the day will be important for you as well, which is why you should do it with your children as much as you can.

Find time to cook together
Cooking as a family is a great practice because you will be able to teach your children something along the way, and in return they will be grateful. Moreover, you might learn something from them as well, because they might add an ingredient you thought would be impossible to cook with. However, cooking together has more benefits than just making a meal, it will create a special kind of bond that children will deeply cherish. And after a while, it might even become a common practice so that your kids can make tasty meals for you as well.

Spending time when you are not there
Although it might sound weird, but it is not impossible to show your kids that you care about them, even when you are physically not there. Packing their lunches and leaving notes to brighten up their day is only one way of interacting with them. But, if you make their chores interesting with notes around the house, you will be able to give them a bit of fun. And later on children could communicate with you via notes as well, making it a fun game that only you and they understand.

Having some fun outside
If you have a big yard, it is important to go out as much as possible because not only will you be able to play more and have a lot more fun, but you will be able to enjoy fresh air as well. On the other hand, installing sprayer pumps to water your garden, and to run around in circles beneath the shower it creates can be loads of fun. Remember to let your children lead in these kind of games, as they will know best what it is to entertain them.

Go on a picnic with your children
You need to make sure to spend some time away from home as well, as this will be the ultimate gift your kids can receive. Having fun at home is fine, but in order to really bond, and to see the world together, it is vital to either go on a picnic or to just take a walk outside. Remember to indulge in a number of games, to keep your children happy. But always make sure to explain what you are doing, so that your children can understand what is going on and why they are doing it.

Always make time for your children
In the end it is not important if you spend a bit of time or even hours together, but the vital thing to do is to find some time to spend with your children, so that they can feel loved and cherished. There are many things you can do together, and you can even do some house chores together to spend some quality time together. On the other hand, do not try to neglect your kids’ imagination, make sure that you play along and most importantly that all of you have a lot of fun while doing so.

Consider a Vacation in Florida

Orlando, the theme park capital of the world, is one of the world’s favorite vacation destinations, but it is not all Florida has to offer. As can be seen on Blue Green Resorts Tweets, there are other vacation spots that offer a variety of experiences.

The Top Destinations in Florida

St. Augustine

image:en.wikipedia.org

The oldest city in North America, St. Augustine has a charming and fascinating historical district that is lined with boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The old Conquistador Village has the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park with a fountain representing what was sought by Ponce de Leon in 1531.

Other historical wonders are the Lightner Museum with mummies and shrunken heads, and the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, which is a defense fort built by the Spanish from a rock formed from coral and shell.

History is not the only attraction. There is Anastasia State Park with beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast. However, many people visit St. Augustine for the golf. It has two championship courses at World Golf Village as well as the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is famous for its Speedway and racetracks, but the beach is the premier attraction. Vacationers can spend the day relaxing on the beach or engage in a little adventure with kite boarding, surfing, deep-sea fishing, parasailing and more. Daytona Beach is also famous for its many first-rate seafood restaurants.

St. Pete Beach

St. Pete Beach is the beach vacation destination of your dreams. It not only offers a huge variety of water sports, you can also rent jet pack and fly above the beach. For a break from the beach, visitors enjoy Busch Gardens Tampa Bay where there are wild animals and thrill rides. You can also take a spin through the surreal world of the Dali Museum.

Surfside

Just north of Miami, you can stay at an oceanfront condo and enjoy all Miami has to offer. You can people-watch on South Beach, where something is going on 24/7, enjoy the wild nightlife and return home to your quiet condo on the beach.

Marathon

There’s no place like the Florida Keys. Have the experience of living on a small island in the middle of the sea with all the comforts of home. This is the place for sailing, diving, fishing, snorkeling, kayaking and beach volleyball. Key West is just a short drive away where you can enjoy the Sunset Celebration every evening.

It’s proven that vacations are good for your health. Florida is famous for sun and sand, but there is a lot more going on, and you can choose a different destination every year with a membership in a vacation club.

Communication

In order for things to go smoothly, you'll need to maintain good communication with the person in charge of the project. The two of you need to decide what hours they will be working so that your schedule and their schedule coincide. Topics such as your alarm system, your daily clean up expectations, their need for uninterrupted work time and various other subjects will need to be addressed before and possibly during the remodeling process. If you have indoor pets, you'll need to confine them to an area where they will not be in the way of the workers. You should also take steps to assure that your kids can't wander into the work area. The workers need to be able to work without distractions in order complete their tasks in a safe and timely manner.

Plan activities

With the house in disarray, you may find that spending time away from your home is one of the best ways to keep your sanity. This would be a good time to take the kids to a local park for exercise, attend some community events or visit family and friends. A weekend trip could be a wonderful reprieve from living in the midst of a construction zone.

One of the best ways to deal with the inconveniences that occur with a remodeling project is to focus on each completed step. From one step to another, you can see improvement. It's appreciating those small improvements that will help keep positive thoughts in your mind until the work is finally completed.

Healthy Snacks You Can Give Your Kids

>> Aug 10, 2015

Post TITLE by matchbox.com.au
With the ability to get as many sweets and candy at a whim, it is becoming ever so increasingly hard to give fit snacks to your kids. However, there are plenty of healthy alternatives you can look into, but you will have to make sure that your kids like it as well, otherwise there will not be much use of it. Keep in mind that if you develop a healthy snack regime from an early age, it will be unlikely for your kids to eat unhealthy food later on.

What is a snack?
It is important that you, and your children understand what a snack really is. It should not be something they can just take whenever they feel like because it can quickly turn into a bad habit that will lead to overeating and making them fat. Moreover, if they start snacking on sugary finger food it can quickly lead to more serious problems, and it will seriously affect their overall health. But, they should learn the difference when they can have something sweet, and that they should mostly try to eat fruits or even nibble on vegetables.

How much is too much?
You should keep a tight schedule your children can easily follow, and that you can pay attention what your kids are eating. Because having too much at once, and over a longer period can lead to oversnacking, a serious problem that could develop other addictions as well. Just keep in mind that a snack is needed when they need to replenish their strength before a major meal, and it should never be a replacement for it. Moreover, make sure your kids also understand that they can only have a little, because it might ruin their appetite.

Make your healthy alternatives

There are many snacks you can make on your own, and most will require little chopping up of fruits and vegetables. However, you can make some snacks by cooking or baking as well. Just make sure that you do not use a lot of additives and to keep it as simple as possible. Using Matchbox’s kitchenware you will find that preparing healthy snacks for your kids, and your whole family will be interesting and fun at the same time. Though make sure to find healthy and easy to make recipes, so that you can enjoy it.

The difference between a treat and a snack
In most cases people tend to mix up treats and snacks because they think it is the same. However, that is not the case, because usually snacks are good and healthy munchies which will keep you satisfied but not full. However the biggest difference between a treat and a snack is that we usually get treats when we do something good. And you should teach your children the difference as well, they should not expect treats every time though, but they should know that they can get some if they are good.

Keep it healthy and simple
In general, it is best to stick with fruits and sometimes even vegetables, so that your kids can get a liking to them, and that they do not get spoiled with fatty and sugary snacks. Moreover, by eating healthily, it will ensure that their bodies develop as they should, and you will not have to worry about them adopting bad habits, or reaching out to sugary and bad snacks that might ruin their health. Most importantly, explain in detail to your kids why healthy snacks are better, and what the purpose of a snack really is, and why it is actually important.
