3 Things to Consider Before Hiring a Clown for Your Child’s Birthday Party

>> May 20, 2019

Hiring a clown is a commitment, but it doesn’t have to be. Clowns are a great way to lighten the mood and bring some excitement to your child’s birthday party. But before you jump on Craigslist and hire the first clown you see, be sure to consider these three things.

Know what you’re looking for

There are tons of different options out there for a birthday party clown. Before you make a certain selection, be sure to do some research and find the best fit for what you have in mind. If you want your clown to blow up balloons and tell jokes, make sure you make that clear when doing a pre-party clown search. Look into ideas for out-of-the-box clown ideas.

You might have a traditional clown in your head, but there are options that are relevant to pop culture that children in 2019 would recognize. Consider a minion or Shrek impersonator for a different twist. There are clowns out there who do a little bit of everything. From face painting to reading children’s books, you can find a company that has a clown that will fit the mood of your party.

When wanting to hire clowns for birthday parties, it also helps if the clown is on brand with your theme. If you have an “under the sea” theme, a mermaid would fit perfectly in with the ambiance and setting. If your theme is just generic, there are still tons of typical clown ideas for you to choose from at most children’s entertainment agencies.

Look for positive reviews

One thing you need to be sure to do is find a clown provider with positive reviews. The last thing you want is someone inexperienced with children at your party. There are so many places to look for a clown, so you should start by looking for recommendations and popular companies in Google search.

Thanks to the internet, it’s pretty easy to figure out if someone will be a fun clown for your child’s party. Head to parenting magazine websites and see what people comment on articles about hiring clowns for parties. You will find second opinions on what to look for in your local area.

Work it into the theme and let attendees know in advance

Any birthday party usually requires an invitation that alludes to activities and the fun things your party has to offer. This is great for letting parents know anything regarding allergies or special requirements for their children. For example, if their child doesn’t do well in new situations, a clown might come as a shock. The invitation outlining the appearance of a clown will help them prep their child to get excited about the upcoming festivities.

Letting people know in advance will ensure the kids are excited to see a clown. This in turn allows their parents to remove the “scary clown” stigma that comes with hiring one. Present day clowns are fun and know jokes to make kids laugh.

These are all things you want to consider before jumping in and hiring a clown. You can’t go wrong once you add these steps into your birthday party planning agenda. With a fun clown and everything else in place, your party will surely be a hit. Be ready for other parents to ask you for recommendations for their next children’s birthday party.

Why Choose Shipping Container Rentals As A Storage Container

>> May 18, 2019

A shipping container is best known as a type of container that is reinforced to withstand the rough nature of the shipment, handling, and storage industry around the world. Shipping container rentals come in various sizes and shapes, ranging from oversized reusable boxes made from steel to the ever popular corrugated boxes that many associates with storage containers. The sheer versatility of storage containers makes these devices an incredibly popular option for not just shipping and transportation purposes, but a number of different uses involving storage across the world. The usual shipping container makes a popular storage option used by numerous businesses for many reasons.

Why choose a shipping container as a storage container

Shipping containers do not go out of use as soon as the shipping job is complete. The shipping container can be repurposed as a storage device. Many manufacturers often do this when these containers get converted into the average storage container rentals. Shipping containers are considered excellent storage options because they are incredibly reinforced against the elements. For example, the average shipping container is considered an overly engineered storage device, meaning that manufacturers take extra precautions to ensure the container is extra strong and able to withstand the rough and tumble nature of shipping and transportation.

How strong are shipping storage container rentals? Storage containers are considered very strong because of how they are manufactured. The common storage container is constructed with corrugated sides with a thickness measuring between 12 to 14 gauges. The container frames are made from the same steel with thicknesses measuring at a minimum of six to eight gauges. The cargo doors are also reinforced and help protect the products inside against the elements and other unwanted intruders.

Storage container rentals are also convenient when it comes to loading and unloading various types of items. For example, the doors of a shipping container open wide enough to help load very large items like vehicles into the container. Some containers can also be used along with ramps and other tools to get items inside and outside the containers. Those with businesses that ship very large items like vehicles may benefit from using this type of storage option for that reason.

Average storage container rentals have relatively inexpensive costs. The dry storage container, which is also the most commonly available for rental, costs as much as a few hundred dollars per month. Other types of storage container rentals, such as insulated containers and refrigerated containers, cost more due to their more advanced nature. Refrigerated container rentals, to provide an example, have a built-in cooling system that helps keep sensitive cargo at a specific temperature.

The size and type of storage container desired by a prospective renter do influence the overall price spent during the entire duration of the rental. In most cases, a prospective renter can rent storage containers for up to 28 days, though longer rental periods can be negotiated with dealers. The versatility in choosing how to pursue container rentals makes them a suitable choice for companies looking for temporary storage options.

Getting the Most Out Of Your Basement Renovations

Even if your basement is a cold, stark place now and may have lots of boxes in it, you can still transform this area of your home to ensure you get the most out of the space.

One of the best ways to do this is to treat your basement area just like the rooms on the main and upper floors of your home. This will cost you much less than adding a room to your home, and you’ll find that a renovated basement can also increase your home’s property values. Here are some useful tips for ensuring that your basement space becomes one of the most appealing areas of your home.

If you entertain friends and family often, you can put the main socializing area in the part of the basement that receives the most natural light. This will attract people to the basement and allow you to save on electricity bills since you can let the sunshine in from the windows. However, if you want a television in the space, make sure it’s in a darker spot of the basement so you won’t get a glare from the TV set. If the area will be used for parties or your children will go to the basement to play and watch movies, you can include a mini fridge in the basement area or even work with a contractor to create a mini kitchen in the basement.

However, before you start the building or remodeling process with your basement, you should test the area for moisture. You can do this by taping 2-foot squares of plastic sheeting to the walls and floor. After you tape the sheeting, wait for a few weeks. If you see condensation developing underneath, this is a sign that the foundation of your home isn’t properly sealed. If droplets of water form on the top of the sheeting, your basement needs to be dehumidified. You can also fix these issues by using an awl to search for insect damage and rot in the joists of the floors. This test also allows you to inspect the header and rim joists, as well as wood-framed windows and the sill plate.

Inspect the fl joists to ensure there is no sagging as well. You can do this by climbing a ladder until you’re almost eye-level with the underside of the joists. Take a good look across the joists to see if any of them are unaligned.

Once you know how you want to convert your basement and you’ve checked to see what type of prep work needs to be done to the space, you should call a professional. The contractor can inspect your fuel-burning equipment and the ventilation system of your home to make sure you don’t have below-grade carbon monoxide buildup. According to many building codes, you’ll need 7 or 7 ½ feet of clearance. If your basement isn’t that tall, you may have the option of digging out and lowering your concrete floor. This can be an expensive job, so working with a contractor at this stage is best. Search for local contractors or get recommendations from friends and family to make sure your basement project starts off right.
