A Family Gathering

 My late entry for Blue Monday. Yesterday Sunday we attended a routine family gathering that conducted every two or three months. After having lunch, we chatted together. Usually, there will be three separated groups based on range of ages. It’s a pity I didn’t take any picture of my aunts and uncles there –the first group.

The kids –nieces and nephews- are the smallest group. I guess teenagers prefer to hang out with their peers :)

A Friend’s Travel Plan

A friend called me on the phone yesterday night; it’s been long time enough since our last communication –therefore it’s so nice to hear her voice again. After asking each other’s condition, she told me that she and family will spend Christmas and New Year times in New York. No wonder that she’s heard very enthusiastic!

For this trip, she has prepared all required things since months ago. She has booked one hotel room of Horseheads New York Hotels for a week, flight tickets and a rental car. She decided to stay at a hotel in Horseheads area since metropolitan and skyscrapers views aren’t her main destinations.  She preferred to encourage her kid to enjoy various outdoor activities there. The first place to visit will be the Finger Lakes region as it’s situated near to her accommodation. She planned to rent a boat and to have a boat ride wandering around the lake.

Central Park will be her family’s main destination as well.  The plan is taking a bicycle tour through the park and seeing Bow Bridge, the Alice in Wonderland sculpture and the Imagine Mosaic.   Since I’ve never yet visited Central Park, I could only imagine how enjoyable it will be.

I reminded her not to miss the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building; I think those are including the must visit destinations in New York City. She said that she has also included the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State building into her trip plan, though she prefers to enjoy scenery. Her daughter craves for visiting this New York’s tallest structure and seeing the view from its 86^th floor observation deck. To keep away from long queues, she had booked the ticket online. I admired her ability to prepare a perfect travel plan!

4 Pests Which Can Turn Your House into Hell

Despite the hygienic environment that you maintain in your house, you might wake up one day to find that your house has been invaded by pests. Termites

These silent destroyers can creep in your home and create massive damage as the mouth of the termite can cause extensive damage to your household furniture. The termite is merely a centimeter but their ability to eat various kinds of things and accessories mean that they are able to create havoc in the house. Termites within the house usually form in mud and Create tunnels through which they reach various foods such as wooden frames and furniture. They can survive in various kinds of climate and therefore they can breed anywhere despite of the location of your house.

Cockroaches

These brown pests which emit an unpleasant smell and produce a hissing sound can create havoc within your accommodation. Despite the fact that they measure an inch they can cause a number of diseases. They can enter your house through various entry points and all they require is a moist environment. They reproduce quite rapidly and therefore control and prevention measures should be implemented as soon as you detect one. Cockroaches can significantly increase allergies and create asthma problems within inhabitants.

 

Fleas

These wingless small creatures are quite often found within homes and these carry various infections such as tularemia and typhus while they can also create allergies within children and adults. Although they cannot fly, they can jump for long distances and mostly live in bed cracks and other nooks and corners and a flea infestation requires both chemical and natural treatments.

 

Getting rid of pests can be a difficult chore, especially if you have a chronic problem with them. Use preventative techniques so you can avoid having to call an exterminator.
