Random Monday

>> Mar 17, 2014

I had another lazy and rainy weekend. I went nowhere and tried to write a few articles. My husband had a reunion event with his high school friends yesterday (Sunday). He asked me to attend the reunion together but I wasn’t in a good mood to go.

After the womb-removing surgery last year, I still feel afraid to be in the same room with new people. I don’t mind attending a reunion with college friends and family gathering events as they aren’t strangers for me; most of them already know my situation.

I recognize only a few of my husband’s friends. Here is the bad think in my mind. I was at a friend of my husband's home and there were about thirty people there. I know no one of them and every one asking the same question to me, “How many kids do you have?” If they ask at different times, should I explain my situation over and over again? So tiring and cutting my emotion.

It may seem too exaggerated; but I still can’t let go this feeling. I’m still fragile. I know that I need more time to heal totally. I have tried to find a community of women who have similar condition, but still no luck. The community of women who struggle for being pregnant is easier to find. Aku Ingin Hamil (I want to be pregnant) is a famous community with many members here.

I told my husband about my worry. He just smiled and said that he’s able to understand.  He attended the reunion alone and he seemed having good times with his friends.

Blue paper glasses with Messi, Torres and Drogba :)

For Blue Monday, I’ll share other thing. The euphoria of approaching the 2014 FIFA World Cup has started since last year, I guess. As we all know, this football world tournament will take place in Brazil, from 12 June to 13 July, 2014. But Indonesian people have very important legislative general election next month ( April 9th). The open campaign period started yesterday!

Sorry for the glares. CR7 offers you fried chicken :)

Famous football players like Messi, Ronaldo, Drogba and Torres are really celebrities. Becoming football players in big clubs makes them the wealthy people. I saw them in several advertisements and commercials.  Even my brother collected some paper glasses with their photos :)

The Difference and Last Update

>> Mar 15, 2014

Is it the same spider? Both were taken in our front yard but at different plants and times.

Captured at the Japanese bamboo plant in January 2013. The legs are complete.

Captured at the red palm tree this morning. I saw missing legs here. Where are the other two legs?

The latest update of our cats' life. Captured about two hours ago. They are getting along but Mocca still keeping a distance. Gray and Reno are close one another.

Hampers for Wishing Get Well Soon

>> Mar 13, 2014

Hampers for Wishing Get Well Soon   - For loved ones laid up in hospitals, fruit baskets are a great gift idea. What a great feeling it is to receive a basket of the season’s best fruits.

One can consume fruits raw and fresh or make a juice out of it. In case of juices, try to include leafy and green organics to the juice. This means cold pressed and salad style veggies, which can deliver more fibre. The thick green extracts boost your health and are simple to digest.

For juices, try creating a thick syrupy juice mix that avoids problems of runs and drips of fresh fruit. You can mix and match flavours. Your morning dose of fruit juice will keep you fit all day long, taking care of the nutritional requirements for the day.

But one adverse point is that fruit juice is rich in fructose sugar, which may cause onset of type 2 diabetes.  A getwell soon fruit basket eliminates the dangers of fruit juice-as the recipient will be eating the fruit rather than drinking it, and thus, avoids added sugar.

Therefore, it is better to consume the fruits in raw form and rather than as juices. If you still want a juice, add some good vegetables like beetroot, kale, broccoli, and ginger.

To begin with juicing vegetables and fruits, add chopped veggies, some green leaves and extract of quarter piece of lemon. So make full use of the fresh fruit basket.

You need not waste money ordering an expensive fresh fruit basket. You can assemble a fruit basket at home. Here are some tips:

  • Consider the recipient: A consideration of the likes and dislikes of recipient will help in designing the basket.
  • The number of recipients: This will determine whether the basket will big, medium, or small.
  • Shape of basket: This will determine how much fruit it can contain.
  • Choose the fruit: Apart from ordinary fruits like apples and oranges, go in for rare ones like mangoes, nectarines, peaches etc.
  • Choose a basket you like: Other than the usual wicker basket, you can go in for different shapes, types and sizes.
  • If you desire everything to be dignified and simple, reduce the scale of presentation. Include crackers, cheese, cookies etc for variety.
  • Edible basket: Apart from edible contents, the baskets themselves can be edible. The basket can be woven out of edible grass or noodles.

Do you want to create a beautiful fruit basket? Read on:

  • Collect your fruit: You can gather as many as you like, both common and exotic especially organic fare from farmer’s markets. Fruits may be seasonal or not, available locally or not.
  • Choose the basket: If you cannot get a wicker basket, try other baskets like old cardboard boxes or wooden baskets.
  • Place fruit inside basket: Put the biggest fruits inside the basket first so that smaller ones don’t get crushed. Next layer is made up of medium sized fruits and the top layer must contain the smallest and most delicate fruit
  • Bow: Tie bow on the basket handle to complete the professional look.

A Week After

>> Mar 11, 2014

It’s just a short personal post for updating this blog. I feel much better after having a cold for almost a week. We had rainy weekend here and spent it in my BIL’s home.

My BIL, SIL and youngest nephew has just arrived from a religious journey to Mecca. My nephew seemed very excited with the whole experience and journey. It was so nice to hear every story said from a three years of age boy.  His parents still looked tired of long flight, but he’s still very active.

A watch gift

My SIL gave me two presents, a watch and bracelet. Yeeei, I love presents :)

My husband was given a piece of perfume. She purchased them during the flight transit in Dubai. Thanks a lot, my lovely sister!

At a Fish Market

>> Mar 9, 2014

Besides our cats, I have no other recent critter shots. Fortunately I still have photos that captured on New Year's eve -when we had dinner at a seaside restaurant.

The fish market is a part of the seafood restaurant in the Ancol Park (Jakarta, Indonesia).  I only took a few shots there. Most of offered seafood is still alive. I saw a variety of fish, shrimps, shellfish, squids, and crabs. Do you like seafood dishes?
