How to Claim for Whiplash Compensation

>> Feb 19, 2014

The same rules apply to claiming for a whiplash injury as claiming compensation for any other personal injury claim.  Firstly you have to fit the criteria, which are:

  • The accident cannot have been your fault
  • You must have sustained injuries in the accident, either physical or mental
  • The injuries must have required medical attention
  • The accident must have happened in the last three years

If you fit the criteria you may be able to claim compensation for your whiplash injury, which can be very painful and disabling.

Get an estimate

The second thing you should do is get an estimate of the amount you are likely to receive for your whiplash injury.  This can be achieved by completing a whiplash injury compensation calculator, which will provide you with some idea of the amount you can expect.  This cannot be totally accurate for there are too many things that can affect the outcome of your claim, but at least it will be some sort of guide to your award.

Gather the evidence

The next thing you need to do before youclaim for whiplash compensation is to gather together as much evidence as you can about how your injury was sustained.  Things like:

· How, when and where the accident happened
·Who was at fault; the lawyers will need to know who to make the claim against
·Were you able to take any photos of the accident scene, maybe on your mobile phone?
·Details of witnesses if there were any
· Medical reports relating to your injury, and the future prospects of recovery
·If the police were called, a copy of the report they will have completed
· Any other information you think might be relevant to your claim, no matter how trivial it may seem

Once you have gathered all this evidence together, you should make your whiplash compensation claim as soon as possible. The sooner after an accident claims are made, the more successful they appear to be.  Probably because it is felt the evidence is more reliable at this stage than three years later.

Make the claim

You have just one more thing to do before making your whiplash injury claim; you need to find the right law firm to act on your behalf.

You need a company that:

·Has the experience and expertise to handle your claim quickly, simply and efficiently
·Specialises in claiming compensation for faultless victims
·Will make sure all costs and losses, as well as the impact on your life are accounted for as part of your claim
·Has friendly and helpful advisors who are trained to give you free legal advice about making a personal injury claim
·Is accessible all hours of every day because do you not know when you might need their help and support
·Operates on a no win no fee basis so that you need have no financial worries about your claim

Once you are happy you have found the right law firm for you; make contact and start the processes of your whiplash injury compensation claim.

A Beautiful Villa

>> Feb 17, 2014

All photos taken by my husband as I didn’t go along. A SIL from husband’s side had a reunion event at a villa (located at Puncak area, Cisarua, West Java, Indonesia) last Saturday. She planned to attend it together with other two SILs and two nephews. My husband was asked to drive them there. I was also asked to accompany them but I wasn’t able to leave home since in the same day, Bragas, my nephew, has invited some best friends to celebrate his birthday (one day before –Feb 14th)by having lunch together at our home.

I’ve promised to my SIL –my brother’s wife- to help preparing the food and place. We cooked yellow rice and some dishes made from noodle, chicken, eggs and tempeh. Everything was going well but I forgot to take any picture. Sigh.

Blue swimming pool in the back part of the villa. The cute boy is Azman, my nephew.

Kid's playing ground
Thanks to hubby for taking some pictures of this beautiful villa. Only a few blue stuffs could be found there. It’s okay, I still can participate in Blue Monday :)

Could a Dehumidifier Be The Answer to Improving My Health?

Unbeknown to many homeowners, a property that has particularly high humidity levels can pose a number of health hazards to all who live there. Mould, mildew, damp and dust all thrive in humid homes, creating an unpleasant and unhealthy atmosphere for your family.

Dehumidifiers provide a cost effective and efficient solution for resolving excess moisture, especially in high humidity areas of your home such as the bathroom, kitchen and laundry room, but how can the use of a dehumidifier improve your health? Check out these healthy benefits that go hand-in-hand with home dehumidification…

Reduce allergies
For those that suffer from allergies, a home that is fraught with dust and damp can worsen symptoms. Mould and mildew can develop quickly in high humidity homes and cause irritation to the eyes and nose, whilst dust mites also love moisture filled environments. Utilising a dehumidifier can bring moisture levels back down to their recommended levels and ensure allergy symptoms aren’t triggered, creating a happy and healthy home for you and your family.

Improved air quality
Dehumidifiers promote better and healthier air quality so you and your family are not breathing in nasty mould spores, dust mites and other allergens. Dehumidifiers draw in moisture ridden air and expel cleaner, drier air ensuring everyone in your household can breathe easy. Use of a dehumidifier will ultimately improve your respiratory health and lead to fewer coughs and sneezes.

Promote healthier skin
Whilst a certain level of humidity aids skin hydration, too much moisture can cause irritation. Miliaria, commonly referred to as ‘prickly heat’, occurs when the skin is exposed to a high humidity environment and causes an unpleasant, blistering rash to develop. For soft and supple skin ensure moisture remains at its recommended levels by using a dehumidifier to clean and remove humidity from the air.

Create a healthy environment for Asthma sufferers
The increase in dust mites and allergens creates an unhealthy environment for all, especially those who suffer from Asthma. Dust mites are found in every home, however, mites thrive in high humidity properties. Dust mites trigger Asthma symptoms, which can lead to increased attacks. Make sure your home isn’t harbouring too many dust mites by using a dehumidifier to cleanse the air and relief allergy and Asthma symptoms for good.

Missing Cat

>> Feb 15, 2014

Lili is a sweet pregnant local cat. She just arrived our home from another city and island –along with other two cats- for one night; but we didn’t see her in the next day. My brother said that she likes to wander around but she usually goes back home again. We aren’t worried if she’s already familiar with the neighborhood. She faces totally new place here!

When taking her pictures that night in my nephew’s bedroom, she didn’t look stressed at all. She loves to be touched. Such a sweetie. I don’t know what’s wrong with her, but until now we still can’t find her. She’s missing for a week already. Other cats, Gray and Juno, are just fine.

I heard that cats select their desired homes, is it true? Perhaps she doesn’t like being here and decided to find out another home. We all love cats here but I guess there’s a conflict between her and Mocca, our existing male cat. The life of a cat can be so complicated.

Infograph: Baby’s First Year Digital Prints

Let me share interesting results of a survey conducted last year between parents of kids age 0-12 months about how most parents manage their babies’ digital photos during the first year. It seems that many parents in today’s digital era have taken benefits of social medias in sharing their newborn babies’ photos; but when it comes to birth announcements, most parents prefer the old way: telephone calls. Happy news should be conveyed out loud and straightly :)
You are surely so proud of your baby, but I think it’s not wise to let other people that you don’t recognize to see the photos of your loved one. Most parents have similar opinion, so privacy settings of your babies’ digital photos are needed.  There are other related things that you should know, you may check out this infograph.
