Laziness is Not an Excuse: How to Keep Yourself Motivated to Work Out
>> Sep 10, 2016
While exercising is a vital part of any
person's life, so many people tend to take it for granted. Even if you promise
yourself that you'll work out 5 times a week, you'll most likely reach a point
wherein you'll be tempted to go out with your friends or eat something or maybe
even go to a party. With all the things going around in our lives, how can we keep the discipline and the motivation to work out regularly? Well, let me
provide you with some tips on how you can stay focused, so you can stay fit.
Tip 1: Have a Fit-spiration
At first, it may seem a little strange to
constantly look at a random person with a buff or really fit body, but doing
this can really inspire you. From time to time, everyone needs a “hero” that
they can emulate. You can do the same for your exercise goals. You can have a
“hero” in the form of a really fit person that you want to become like.
Tip 2: Plan Your Schedule
Next, you have to plan your workout routine
so that you have something to stick to. It's easier to stick to your workout if
you have a constant schedule at the back of your head as compared to working
out whenever you're free. These days, there are apps that can help you plan
your schedule. Apps like Workout Plan are great for organizing your workout
times. You can also organize your routines with apps like these.
Tip 3: Choose a Routine That Suits You
Another thing to do would be to choose a
routine that suits you. If you want to motivate yourself, then you have to
enjoy yourself. The only way to enjoy yourself is to choose a routine that
you'll like. You'll be able to find a lot of routines on the internet. Search
for the right fitness programs for your desired
results and for your enjoyment so that you'll continuously be motivated to work
out every day.
Tip 4: Document Your Progress
There's nothing more encouraging than
seeing yourself go from a flabby or skinny person into a fit person with a lot
of muscles and cuts. For this purpose, I'd suggest that you document your
progress. Hang pictures of yourself monthly or weekly so that you can see how
much you've progressed. If you see that you've gotten a six pack after a month,
you'll most likely be even more encouraged to get an eight-pack! If you've
gained more weight after a week, that'll give you a slight kick in the shins
telling you to work out more.
Tip 5: Make it a Habit!
Lastly, you simply have to make
a habit out of all these
tips. Once you discipline yourself to perform all these tips, you'll eventually
turn every one of them into a habit. Continuous action turns ideas into habits,
and that's what you want your workout routine to be. Once exercising has become
your second nature, you'll notice that you'll feel incomplete if you skip a day
of working out.
