Kardashian Madness: What Keeps Viewers Coming Back for More
>> Apr 9, 2013
America’s
favourite family have captivated fans since they first burst onto our screens
in 2007, and have gone on to take the world by storm with their wacky antics
and domestic disturbances. Kim, Khloe,
and Kourtney Kardashian have become household names in just a few years, and
their original reality series ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ has led to four
different spin-off shows. What is it
that makes this family so appealing to the masses, and just how do the keep us
glued to our screens each week? Their
appeal lies in each sister’s individual personality, and it is their feistiness
and strong characters that occasionally lead to their entertaining
disagreements on screen.
Kim is
arguably the most famous of the three sisters, and is without a doubt the
subject of the most controversy. After
the infamous sex tape in 2006 she went on to star in her main reality show, as
well as two spin-offs ‘Kourtney and Kim Take New York’ and ‘Kourtney and Kim
Take Miami’. She married basketball
player Kris Humphries in 2011, only to file for divorce 72 days later. Despite the setbacks Kim has managed to win
the heart of the nation, and viewers cannot get enough of her unique brand of
entertainment. She is currently
expecting her first child with rapper Kanye West, and fans wait with bated
breath for the birth of this famous offspring.
Along with her sisters, she manages many different business empires
including a clothing line, cosmetics range, her own signature fragrance, and
endorses various products.
Younger
sister Khloe has earned a reputation as the most outspoken member of the family,
and her assertiveness even landed her a role as a host on the X Factor. She is currently married to basketball player
Lamar Odom, and they even have their own reality show entitled ‘Khloe and
Lamar’. As with all the Kardashian shows
it is broadcast on E! Entertainment channel, so to stay up to date fans will
have to subscribe to cable TV through a service such as CableTVAdvisor.com. Kourtney is known as the quietest of the
three sisters, and also the most intelligent as she holds a bachelor’s degree
in Theatre Arts. Kourtney fulfils the
role of mother hen to her two younger siblings, and is often seen counselling
them through various life experiences.
Throughout
all the drama and cat fights on the show, one thing that remains clear is that
the Kardashians are an incredibly close family who genuinely love and respect
one another. The show’s format appeals
to the hidden voyeur within us all, and we gain access to every bit of drama
that goes on in the Kardashian household.
The fact that the main characters are strikingly beautiful, incredibly
successful women only adds to their charm, and their unique brand of wisdom has
led to more than a few funny moments on screen.
Whatever the secret to their success, the Kardashians will be around for
many years to come, and E! network has already signed on to broadcast their
series until 2015.
