1. Moisturize Within Three Minutes After Bathing

Generally, moisturizing is crucial for beautiful and healthy skin because it helps to protect the skin from drying out and from the weather. It additionally helps to maintain the natural moisture levels of the skin by releasing moisture into the skin slowly. However, you need to apply a moisturizer at the right time to its benefits. The American Academy of Dermatology suggests that it’s best to apply the moisturizer within 3 minutes after bathing. This is because applying the moisturizer at this time will help it penetrate deep into your skin. It is also important to consume enough water daily to hydrate the skin. You need to drink 8 glasses of water daily to keep your skin toned, firm, and glowing.

2. Eat 5 Servings Of Vegetables And Fruits Every Day

You can easily improve your skin tone by following a diet with more vegetables and fruits. You must try eating five servings of vegetables and fruits a day. According to a 2012 study, increased consumption of vegetable and fruit has beneficial impacts on Caucasian skin appearance. Fruits and vegetables can help protect the skin from damage because they are rich in antioxidants. Besides, vitamin C in them is also an antioxidant, which helps tissues repair itself and regrow. To get a brighter skin color, try to eat tomatoes and carrots because they have carotenoids that are antioxidants that aid in soaking up free radical damage produced by the strains of daily living and stresses.

3. Protect The Skin From The Sun

Protecting the skin from the sun is another important way to keep the skin beautiful and healthy. Overexposure to the sun can lead to age spots, wrinkles, and other skin problems. You can protect the skin by applying a sunscreen, wearing clothes or seeking shade. Even consumption of tomato paste can provide protection from damage of the sun. Sun exposure is also associated with skin cancer. A recent 2015 study indicated that sun exposure and aging are the leading reasons for skin cancer.

4. Wash Your Face Just One Time A Day

According to dermatologists, you just need to your face one time daily, in the evening before your bedtime.  Nighttime cleansing helps to fade pollutants, makeup, and other particles from the skin. You can also wash your face in the morning to feel fresh. But you need to skip the cleanser and use lukewarm water to rinse. Cleansing your face two times a day or more can lead to dryness, especially if your skin is dry and sensitive. Remember to use a nonabrasive, gentle cleanser that doesn’t contain alcohol. Use lukewarm water to wet your face first and later apply cleanser with your fingertips. Never scrub the skin because this irritates the skin. Rinse using lukewarm water and pat dry using a soft towel.

5. Don’t Smoke

Smoking has deleterious impacts on the skin. It can damage the skin’s outer layer, leading a wasted, dull appearance. Plus, it also decreases the amount of blood flowing to your skin by inhibiting blood vessels, thus depleting the skin of oxygen & essential nutrients. Furthermore, it even causes an increased production of an enzyme breaking down collagen and causing it to sag.

6. Avoid Excessive Scrubbing

Exfoliating gently is a good way to bring back the radiant glow of the skin and eliminate excess dead skin cells. But over-exfoliation can result in inflammation and irritation. When using a scrub, many people rub too vigorously. The constant abrasion and friction on the skin can remove the natural oils, causing dryness and irritation. It can even cause hyperpigmentation, post-inflammatory resulting in darkening of blemishes. Over-exfoliation can also lead to blotchy and red skin, annoying itching, loss of moisture, a burning sensation, etc. Thus, you should exfoliate one time every week or two. For the best results, use a facial cleansing brush. The exfoliation process is soft and won't affect the skin in the long run.

7. Use Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has the ability to keep the skin supple, radiant, and soft. This oil contains an anti-microbial ingredient named lauric acid, which helps it to work as a deep cleansing & makeup removing agent. It also comes with the healthy fat that functions as an antioxidant that helps to reduce the aging process and protect the skin from the damage of free radicals. You can prepare a coconut oil scrub to exfoliate your dead cells. You mix 1 tablespoon each of honey and coconut oil with ½ teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of demerara sugar. Use it as a pack to keep your skin hydrated.

8. Turmeric

Turmeric is an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-bacterial property, which helps to improve the circulation level, clear the blemishes, combat infection, and remove wrinkles and fine lines. In fact, using turmeric will help you have a healthy skin. You can mix 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder with some milk and 1 teaspoon of honey to create a coarse paste. Then, use this paste as a scrub on the face and skin every day. You can also mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder with 2 teaspoons of buttermilk to help eliminate the puffiness and dark circles.

9. Honey

Through centuries, honey has been used as a skin nourishing and nurturing ingredient. This is because it is enriched with antioxidant properties, amino acids, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. It has the capacity to enhance cellular regeneration and soothe inflammation, both of which are important for a healthy and youthful skin. In addition, this sticky liquid also possesses the humectant property that helps to captures and retains the essential skin hydration. To flush out the dead skin cells, mix 1 tablespoon of honey with 2 teaspoons of crushed rock salt. To slow down aging, add pure honey (1 teaspoon) to Indian gooseberry juice (30 ml) and drink it every morning.

10. Oatmeal

Oatmeal serves as a great protective covering on the skin, inhibiting the skin from turning flaky and dry. It also contains the healthy fat, which makes it a good natural moisturizer. Along with that, it also safeguards the skin from the damage caused due to scorching sun. Furthermore, it also aids in keeping the skin looking younger, as it comes with innate exfoliating and cleansing properties. You can make an anti-aging pack by combining 2 tablespoons of oatmeal with 1 teaspoon each of freshly squeezed orange juice and olive oil, and 1 whipped egg yolk. After that, apply the resultant mixture on your skin and after 20 minutes, wash it off. Repeat this method twice weekly to slow down aging.

These simple tips and home remedies will help you get a young and healthy skin in several weeks. Plus, exfoliate regularly, moisturize generously, and cleanse the face the right way. All the tips will work together and will keep the skin look radiant and younger.
