Create the Home You Love

>> Oct 25, 2018

Your home is your sanctuary. It is where you close your door, leave the outside world, and step into your comfort zone. You want you home to be as inviting as possible. You want it to be a place where you can kick off your shoes, relax, and unwind. In order to achieve this feeling and overall atmosphere, you want to keep your home clean and tidy. You want to really minimize stress, which means that you will need to keep clutter to a minimum.

If you have minimal clutter, you will not be spending as much time looking for misplaced items which means that you will not be as stressed out. Keeping a neat home also means that you will not have to worry about pests invading your space. But if you still have pests, you can always enlist the help of Moxie pest control Nashville so that you can get back to relaxing.

There are many different ways that you can make your home peaceful, but it all boils down to keeping your home free from clutter and chaos. A good way to stay organized is to make sure that you have a place for everything. You should also get in the habit of putting things away when you are done using them. Your entryway, in particular, can easily become a drop all for things, so keep a small bowl or tray to serve as a catch-all place until you have time to go through things. Better yet, instead of bringing your mail in and then sorting it later, try to sort it right away so that it doesn't even have the chance to accumulate. If you have little ones, be sure to keep a bin in the room for them to keep their toys in one place.

Be sure to spend some time on yourself and let go of the cares of your day by having a nice bath or reading a good book, or both. Have your bathroom stocked with scented candles and fluffy towels. Be sure to have your home smelling nice with wall plugs and wax warmers or essential oil diffusers. Different scents can cause you to feel different feelings. For example, lavender is a good scent to help you relax, while peppermint is a good scent to put in your diffuser when you are trying to get your paperwork done, as it helps to boost thinking. Music is another tool that you can use to set the mood. Try playing some relaxing classical music when you eat your dinner. You will feel as if you are dining in an expensive restaurant and it will help you to slow down and really enjoy your food.

Put a little vase of fresh flowers in your rooms. It will add a nice touch of serenity to your home, even if you feel like your home is a mess and your day was anything but relaxing. When you look at your flowers in your little vase, it will make you smile and help you to forget about all the things that you need to do.
It is a good idea to keep certain areas of your home free from technology. That means no computer, no TV, and no cell phones. A sitting room is a good place to keep a comfy chair and a bookshelf with your favorites. It'll be a room where you can get lost in a good book without any interruptions.

Keep positive art around your home to remind you that you are a great person who has so much to contribute. It could be a favorite quote or a motivational saying, or it could be as simple as a refrigerator magnet. These positive affirmations will give you a little boost whenever you see them. Keep your home stocked with all your favorites. It can be a good rule of thumb not to buy anything unless you absolutely love it. Everything in your home should be useful, or something that makes you feel good. It's your home, so design it and decorate it the way that you like it.
